EPB UTC Internet

- Here we upgraded from we had previously we had two
gigabit connection to EPB. We now have a 10 gigabit
connection to them. So we've expanded by five fold and that's really just
to handle the capacity. We needed extra capacity here.

Our students and as pretty
much everyone now has. Our students come in with a laptop, got a mobile device, or
smart phone, got a tablet. And if they're in a
dorm, they've got their residential living facility,
they've got a television, they've got, like I said, gaming devices. So we pretty much maxing
out on our capacity before.

So this will give us a lot more
capacity, allow us obviously for a lot more learning on campus. And as more devices are accessing the internet to be able to. There is resources in the
class so this will enable and enhance the teaching
and learning experience. We're also going to be upgrading our, all of our housing to the latest and greatest AC access points.

So this will help give us a
little room for that as well. It's kind of like a pie so you've gotta, everyone's accessing, we used to have 30 people in a class of 30 accessing one internet access point. Now we have with multiple
devices you have 90, so you can imagine taking a
pie and splitting it 30 ways. Versus taking a pie and
splitting it 90 ways.

Doesn't get for a good user experience but this will allow us to go ahead and give us better connectivity. Which will then give us better speeds so instead of a delay for doing research or working on cross project, or accessing their learning
class online much faster. This 10 gig will help us and obviously these wireless
upgrades will help us as well. I have a little saying that you could put an access point on every student's head and it still wouldn't be enough.

But it's just, this will definitely give us a couple of years. And a greater capacity for more devices as, you've got watches, and more personal devices,
more wearable devices. This will give us some space that we won't have to worry about that
for a couple of years. Until it gets filled up with other devices that we haven't
even thought about..
